PDF bleed, trim box and embedded font checklist

Bleed, trim and font problems are easier to correct before a production queue begins. Verify each page and retain the printer's specification beside the findings.

Compare TrimBox and BleedBox

The TrimBox describes the intended finished page; the BleedBox describes artwork extending beyond it. Confirm the required bleed amount with the printer.

Check every page size

A cover, insert or foldout may intentionally differ, but an unexpected mixed size can signal an export mistake. Review dimensions page by page.

Inspect font resources

Look for font descriptors and embedded font-file evidence. If the PDF structure does not prove embedding, report that limitation instead of assuming success.

Keep the source and report together

Hash the original PDF, export page-level findings and record any printer decision. Preflight reports should make the handoff traceable without changing the artwork.
